A stroke: These signs show up a month in advance.

Suffering a stroke is very risky. So, you need to be cautious and see a doctor immediately if you experience any of these signs.

Every year, many people die from strokes. This happens when a blood vessel in the brain is blocked or bursts because of a blood clot. Now, the cells will stop getting oxygen and nutrients, which will make them start to deteriorate. The body will suffer severe effects from this, needing immediate medical attention. Some warning signs may appear about a month before a stroke if they occur suddenly.

Various kinds of strokes

Know that there are two or possibly three different kinds of strokes, not just one.

Stroke due to decreased blood flow.

85% of strokes are caused by a condition known as cerebral infarction. So, it is the most frequent kind of stroke. Cerebral thrombosis occurs when an artery that brings blood to the brain is blocked by cholesterol or atherosclerosis. When a blood clot blocks a blood vessel in the brain, it is known as a cerebral embolism.

Bleeding strokes account for 15% of all strokes and are less frequent. The primary cause is when an aneurysm ruptures. According to the Ministry of Health, brain bleeds can also happen due to tumors, high blood pressure emergencies, and other bleeding problems.

A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a brief interruption of blood flow to the brain.

This kind of brain damage is not the same as a regular stroke. When a blockage in an artery goes away on its own without causing lasting effects, it is known as a transient ischemic attack. When it comes to the symptoms, they should be like those of a stroke and should only last a brief moment before going away entirely. These factors can make it difficult to identify mini-strokes, which may be mistaken for general discomfort. However, because there is still a chance of having a stroke, it is crucial to remain vigilant and call 15 if it occurs.

Find out the warning signs that may indicate a stroke is approaching about a month in advance to receive prompt treatment.

If you feel numb or weak in your body, it might be a sign of a stroke.

The face, arms, and legs all show this. When a person has a stroke, it typically only affects one side of their body because it only affects a specific area of the brain. If one side of your smile looks weaker or if your arm feels numb, these are two signs that should be taken seriously and treated promptly.

A stroke can cause someone to lose consciousness.

Feeling like you might pass out, being dizzy, or feeling like things are spinning around you are some of the more concerning symptoms. Even if they don't always indicate a stroke, they do point to a serious health issue, so it's a good idea to see a doctor just in case.

A stroke can affect vision.

Vision issues can occur suddenly right before a stroke. You could have trouble with your vision, be sensitive to light, have trouble telling colors apart, or even go blind.

A headache could be a sign of a stroke.

At times, you might have sudden and very strong headaches. They can be so strong that vomiting may occur. They might indicate a more serious problem than a typical headache.

Having trouble moving properly after a stroke.

It is possible to suddenly feel disoriented and have difficulty moving before experiencing a stroke. It can impact one area or the whole body. You might have trouble talking or remembering words.

Having difficulty breathing could indicate a stroke.

Sometimes, if you feel like you can't breathe well in a new place without moving around a lot, it might be an early sign of a stroke.

If you are unsure about your health, don't hesitate to reach out to a doctor.
